Anderson had two good dramatic parts in pictures: With Bette Davis in "Jezebel" and as Uncle Peter in "Gone With The Wind," in which he's so heavily made up, you wonder why they cast him.
He's also very funny in "Topper Returns" and "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Mad World," although both performances are marred by racist stereotyping.
Anderson sang "Taking a Chance on Love" just once on the Benny radio program. The rest of the time his singing was used only for comic effect.
