Folks,
Many of Jack's radio shows were done with a live audience,
especially as the show went on the road to military camps
during WWII. My question is: when Rochester would make
his inevitable phone call to Jack during the program, did
he also step onto the stage (maybe with a phone in his hand?)
The audience usually went wild when you heard Rochester's
voice, and I always imagined that they saw him as well.
Anyone know how it was done?
Thanks for this great forum. Jack's on every Saturday
night at 9 pm on KNX in Los Angeles; I hear it here in
the San Francisco area just fine.

P.S. I think Jack's radio programs were at their peak
from about 1944 to the early 1950's, when Phil left. Before that,
the group was still kind of coalescing as a radio family; in the
final few years they just sounded a bit weary of it all (especially
Mary L).
