Makes me think of Bing Crosby, who was alleged to be a very different man in private than in person. Al Jolson as well; look at what happened to his wives. The talent of these men was undeniable, but they were not so beloved and wonderful privately.

A friend just said to me the other day that they don't like certain composers (like Wagner) because they were such rotten personalities. Is this a viable reason to avoid someone's work?
