I live in England.Inthe UK and we have a classic called Steptoe & Son,
which was filmed in the 1960's - you may know it.
It was written by Galton & Simpson ( who also wrote Hancock's half hour).
One episode had Harold ( the downtrodden son) acting in an amateur
production, his line was about horses and was '' a string of polo ponies''.
he said polopponies in error (to raucous laughter). I am sure that I heard
this line in a re-run of The Jack Benny show- so it was plagiarised at worst
, or poetic license - or Galton & Simpson had a hand in the script ??
Have you any thoughts on this ?
