McCarthy and the Hollywood Blacklist

I have never read of Jack's position regarding the Hollywood blacklist of fellow artists during the "communism in Hollywood" scare.Did he support McCarthyiasm and the blacklist like some others ie Disney,Kazan,etc or did he voice his opposition?
