: There's a cool book that shows all kind of bizarre sites in L.A. that have some connection to show business, like the house where Marilyn Monroe committed suicide and the steps where Laurel & Hardy moved a piano. Wish I could remember the name of it.
: I just looked on Amazon, and it might be one of these:
: "Famous Hollywood Locations" by Leon Smith, 2001. ISBN 0786411163
: "L.A. Bizarro" by Anthony R. Lovett, 1997. ISBN 031215562X
: Have a good trip. Visiting Jack's grave at Hillside?
: : I will be in LA on business Thu-Sat. Hopefully, Saturday I will be sightseeing. Can anyone suggest any sites/tours? I would like something nostalgic - related to OTR or old movies.
: : Thanks
The book is called "This is Hollywood - An Unusual Guide" It's certainly a good one. It's available at some Hollywood tourist spots (including Larry Edmund's) and from the author I think: Ken Schessler POB 7800 Redlands, CA 92375. Marilyn's death house is included on the tour of the stars' homes. The Laurel and Hardy steps from the movie "The Music Box" (one of my favorites) are now unrecognizable from the movie because so much has changed since then.
