: : Are there any pictures of Mr. Benny playing his violin.
: : I am interested in the way he used to hold it while playing for I have heard, that he did not hold it the correct way. Also did he only have one violin or did he have several? (I've been told that he had three.)
: : Thank you.

: i've seen pictures somewhere of Jack and Gisele McKenzie playing the violin. there's a book called "Jack Benny: The Radio and Television Work" that the Museum of Television and Radio put out in 1991. the cover shows a violin with a later picture of Jack super-imposed in the broken strings, playing what looks to be a serious instrumental. on page 216 there's a picture of Bob Hope with a cane and Jack playing his violin from a sketch the two did about vaudeville. on page 75 there's a wacky picture. It doesn't have anything to do with a violin but Jack has a goatee and looks like Mitch Miller. Dennis Day is in a long blonde wig looking like he just escaped from an insane asylum and Don Wilson's holding a banjo also wearing a goatee. it was a parody of Peter, Paul, and Mary.

I am wondering where is Jack's Violin Now? Is it still in the possession of his descendents or is it somewhere else?
