: I was just curious what vaudeville routines did Jack's writers incorporate on his radio show? Was the "Hey Joe ,hey Frankie, hey Sam, Hey Bill..." and Jack's retort, now cut that out!! one of them? Which other ones come to mind?

I love the bit in the next-to-last show of the 1938-39 season where Jack and the gang are at the railroad station, heading for Waukegan....

Jack is at the ticket counter, trying to buy tickets which include sleeping berths. He says, "I'd like two uppers and two lowers", and the clerk says, "Well you know, the lowers are HIGHER than the uppers"....and Jack snaps back with, "I KNOW, I did that in vaudeville 20 years ago!".
