Also, so many scripts were reused that it's easy to confuse some shows. I was looking over some detailed listings of shows from 1947 to 1954 last night, and could see many, many examples of this, sometimes even using the exact same joke four or more years later. For example, 12/2/52 ends with Don saying that he wouldn't give $1.98 cufflinks to a dog, and Mary says, "Well, you can start barking, brother!" The exact same gag was used about a cheap wallet (I think) years earlier.

There are two versions of "Snow White and the Seven Gangsters" in circulation, which are almost identical, but were two separate shows on different dates (i.e., not east coast/west coast) . It's possible that they did "The Egg and I" on more than one occasion (but don't have my log here to look it up...sorry).
