: Does anyone happen to know why there are early shows where Dennis gets billed over Rochester and then in later shows Rochester gets billing over Dennis? I am not sure of the date or dates where this changed, but perhaps this had something to do with Dennis going into the Navy?
Sometimes, well actually most of the time, on old radio shows the vocalist was billed last.(regardless of whether or not they were actually in the show saying lines). When Dennis Day left for the navy in 1944, Rochester was bumped up in billings, soon after the replacement singer came in and he was billed after rochester. I am guessing That when Day came back they just left the billing the way it was. But I guess it wouldn't matter to him what billing he got, he made a barrel of money anyway.
