In addition to what will most likely be two weeks of Jack Benny shows on Toronto's CFZM this week (February 3rd-7th) and probably next week as well (February 10th-14th), a 1952 episode of "The Jack Benny Program" will be rebroadcast on "When Radio Was" on Wednesday, February 10th.
It's titled "Dreams Of The New York Symphony" and is probably about Jack trying to get a gig to play his violin with that orchestra, originally broadcast February 17th, 1952.
Personally, this episode should have been scheduled four days later so it would fall on the 120th anniversary of Jack's birth. But at least they're doing something on the week of his birthday.
"When Radio Was" is heard across the country on numerous stations; however, in much of the Eastern and Central parts of the United States and Canada, the best bet may be WBBM, the 50,000-watt Chicago station at 780 on the dial, which will air the show on Tuesday, February 11th, at 1:05 A.M. Eastern time (12:05 A.M. local time in Chicago).
Typical disclaimer: I don't work for "When Radio Was", nor know anyone who does, but I wanted to share this news.
