Jack Benny Slips, Broadcasts 'Damn'
The only comedian to receve a medal for distinguished radio service, Jack Benny, wanted to say "darn" last night—and he did by way of correction—after his tongue had slipped and caused him to say "that's damn good." But he got the medal, just the same.
The incident unnerved Jack, which was made obvious by his repeated clearing of his throat through the remainder of the program.
Later in the evening Eddie Cantor used the word "skunk" in one of his attempts at being funny, while ribbing Dave Rubinoff.
