Jack Benny TV Show: Sunday nights at 9:00 and 9:30 on RTV!

Here in the Seattle area, we get the RETRO Television station on Comcast channel 117! Every few months for the past couple of years I've searched fo the Jack Benny Show to no avail. Then yesterday I checked the listings and there it was! Two episodes every Sunday night at 9:00 and 9:30. Now I would have chosen to play it a couple of hours earlier, but they got Sunday night right! I tried not to get too excited thinking they might just show the public domain episodes, but to my enjoyment they played an episode with Connie Francis and another featuring opera singer Roberta Peters both of which are not in the public domain! I can't wait until next Sunday, but I guess I have to. In one of the episodes Jack was 69, but I swear he looked 20 years younger, especially when he was in his opera wig and outfit, and he sure didn't dance like any 69 year old I've ever seen!

That's great to hear. If one of the shows is the episode "Jack meets the acrobats" if you could DVD it I would be delighted and obliged.A dear old friesdn of mine is one of the cast and she would be thrilled to get a copy. Please see my post a bit further down the page "shows On DVD"

This weeks episodes were both a lot of fun! The first guest starred Carol Burnett with a nice singing performance, intimate intro with Jack and Carol, and a fun Gambling boat skit.

The second episode had guest Mickey Rooney being conned in to guest starring on the show, and a fun sketch about the lax, easy going prison system in the far off future of 1985! TVs and Stereos in every cell, Mickey Rooney is being paroled, but wants to stay in the cozy prison with Jack!

I think they are running one season at 9:00 and a completely different season at 9:30, both have different intros, but each is respectively the same as they were last week. My guess would be maybe the '61 and '63 seasons?
