Here's a "heads-up" that the 1950 New Year's Eve episode of "The Jack Benny Program" will be rebroadcast on "When Radio Was" tomorrow, December 31st.
The program, of course, is nationally syndicated. Normally, the weeknight episodes of "When Radio Was" are carried on Chicago's WBBM (780 on the AM dial; it's powerful 50,000-watt night signal can be heard throughout the Eastern and Central United States and Canada) at 1:05 A.M. Eastern Time, meaning that usually, one would expect this "When Radio Was" episode to air on Wednesday, January 1st at 1:05 A.M. EST, 12:05 A.M. Central Time, with Jack's 1950 New Year's Eve show coming on at about 1:25 A.M. EST, 12:25 A.M. CST.
However, it's possible that WBBM may pre-empt "When Radio Was" or move it to another time period in order to present live coverage of New Year's Eve events in Chicago (WBBM is all-news the other 23 hours of the day).
"When Radio Was" does archive it's shows and you can listen to them up to seven days after they air; so going to http://www.whenradiowas.com may be your best bet.
As usual, this disclaimer: I don't work for either "When Radio Was", nor for WBBM, but I did find this info out and wanted to share it with you.
Happy New Year!
