At the end of a Phil Harris-Alice Faye radio broadcast in 1950, Phil plugged an upcoming multi-city tour that he would be doing with Jack, Rochester and Vivian Blaine. Phil said that the shows would be two hours long so clearly they were different (and much longer) than the radio shows. I imagine that the greater length gave each of the performers, including Phil and his band, more of an opportunity to showcase their talents and I wouldn't be surprised if the stage shows were looser and more spontaneous than the radio programs.
