A Dennis Day show

Someone on this site (Tim, was it you?) directed me to Rand's Esoteric OTR, where someone is uploading his transcription collection.

He's just posted another Dennis Day Show, with Mel Blanc and Anna Maria Alberghetti. It's apparently an AFRS version broadcast Sept. 18, 1955. I can't find a commercial broadcast date. I did find one for Nov. 14, 1954 featuring Alberghetti and Phil Harris.

The real highlight is Blanc, who had reached the stage of his career to be able to rightfully garner a guest credit. We get Polly and M. LeBlanc making Jack references, along with Bugs, Porky, Sylvester, Tweety and Foghorn, I SAY, Foghorn Leghorn. Oh, and Yosemite Sam in an opera! (Did this inspire Chuck Jones?)

I've never been much of a fan of A Day in the Life of Dennis Day, but this show is a fun one. It's structured very much like Jack's Jell-O show, with opening kibbitzing, a song, then a sketch, though it's not nearly as well written. Still, it's enjoyable and it's a shame more of them aren't around.
