Rochester's model trains

Postby scottp » Sun Aug 15, 2004 11:08 am

(I should say "Eddie Anderson's model trains.")
A few years ago I was at a get-together of railroad fans, and among a group of movies shown was one of those old before-the-feature theatrical shorts (I don't think it was for TV) that dealt with interesting hobbies and such. Eddie and his model trains were shown. The sound was not great on this movie so I didn't even hear what size they were, but someone else told me they were "HO" scale, which would become the most popular size but was somewhat rare in that time (mid-40s apparently.) Think "Athearn," smaller than Lionel or American Flyer but larger than "N scale."
I don't know if any of you may have seen it or commented on it before. I have no idea of a title.
I wonder if Mel Blanc ever came over and announced the departing passenger trains for him?
