I hate to admit this, but I saw this when it first ran when I was in Grade 4 and I had no idea who Don Wilson was. But I knew Allen Ludden (the fact I haven't seen the clip yet and know Allen's in it says something).

Dennis James was "Chet Chumley" Ludden was "David Dooley" and Wilson was "Walter Klondike". Interesting how they made fun of the CBS and ABC Newsmen, but not ABC's?

Back in those days ABC was a distant third in news ratings behind CBS and NBC. I can't even remember who the ABC anchor was then. I'm thinking it was probably Howard K. Smith, but I won't swear to it.

Either him or Frank Reynolds. But Howard had left CBS by then.
