Could it be Sacheen Littlefeather?

Yep, that's rebellious Reagan and future centerfold Patti Davis...

I assume you'll recognize Mr. Rita Hayworth, who likes scaring people about the Martians, but who's that in the background?

Since no one else guessed, can I flail wildly here?

Eddie Cantor?

Frank Sinatra?

Allen Ginsberg?

Frank Grimes?

One of Mr. Welles' many secretaries?

He's more known for musical than vocal sounds, and he's a connecting point between Welles and Alfred Hitchcock. If you identify this guy, you can probably figure out what broadcast this is from too!

I never would have got it without the hint, and without Google, but it must be Bernard Hermann.

I don't know from composers, but Google Images seems to confirm the match.

Yes, Bernard Herrmann ... sometimes my mind wanders to the thought of Jack playing the "Psycho" themes on his violin.... :P

Any guesses on the broadcast? We did it as a chat topic once, and it's pretty good!

Well, I don't have Laura's book, and the JB episode lists I've collected are very sketchy. I could only guess 3/17/40 or 4/11/43.

It isn't something crazy like the War of the Worlds broadcast, is it? Ooh, I just Googled up Orson Welles's Almanac -- maybe that's it.

It's from the CAMPBELL PLAYHOUSE (successor to MERCURY THEATER ON THE AIR, renamed after a sponsor change), March 24, 1940, an adaptation of "June Moon". Herrmann's the tip-off that it is Orson's show not Jack's :)

Of course, Orson guested on Jack's show the previous week as you point out.

Maybe Jack's bow-tie in her hair would complete the outfit?

Are we supposed to guess something, or just enjoy the view?

You could try to identify who the woman is, while enjoying the view! This really is a Jack Benny-related post :P
