Laura, FYI: all the little icons for "reply to message" and such show up as question marks when viewing messages. This has been true here (on my computer) since the phpBB was put into place. I use a mac, but I have visited a number of other sites with phpBB message boards that do not have this problem. If it's just me, no big deal, but if others report the same thing, it might be worth asking the php folks about.

Where are you seeing that? I have just the text of "reply to message"--no icon--so I think I'm looking in a different place.

When I get to the screen where I'm actually reading messages, the places where it should say things like "reply with quote" or "view user's profile" are just question marks. Once I figure out which ? will allow me to post a followup, it goes to the "Post a reply" screen, the one with all the "emoticons" at left. That screen, the one I'm looking at as I write, is fine. It's the screen that preceeds it that is full of "blanks."

I believe those images should be in "templates/subSilver/images/" and subfolders for example, specifically it's calling at times for things like templates/subSilver/images/lang_english/post.gif
which doesn't seem to be there

Is this fixed?

I finally got around to extracting and uploading these files. Is this problem fixed now? I think it is...

Hey, no more red "X"s! Rochester must have found time to get that done between the Colemans' and the Stewarts' laundry! Looks nice!

Hey! I can see the icons now! I use a mac and I had been just hovering my mouse over a question mark and reading what the message said at the bottom of my browser. I was never sure whether I was replying to a post or clicking on the "destroy all posts in this thread" button! (I can see now that we don't have one of those buttons!)
I had never been able to see them until you upgraded.
Thanx!!!!

I too can see icons that have always been boxes with x's in them. Thankk you Laura for your continuing to provide this labyrinth of love for Jack Benny fans.
Your pal,
Buck Benny

Glad I've got that fixed. My apologies to those who were putting up with this. Where there are things like a "reply" icon, it used to say "Reply with quote" on my screen. So it was no big deal to me whether it was an icon or text. Didn't realize that it was causing that much of an issue for folks. Thanks for bearing with us through the time before I got around to repairing it!

Thanks, Laura. I was thinking that the red X's were due to something missing on my machine (because I didn't go back and read this thread). Now if only somebody could tell me why when I try to download the show for the next chat I get the torn Quicktime logl....

That one, I don't know. It downloads fine for me. Maybe you need to update your Quicktime plugin.

It wasn't much of an issue for me, I was blissfully ignorant of what other people saw!
As the song says, "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you don't got until you have it"... Well, maybe it doesn't go exactly like that. But it's a good song.

When I try the link I get a white screen which stays that way for what seems like forever. I've been having some problems with my cable drop (connectors getting wet, I suspect because it's bad when it rains here), and I often have to refresh when loading a page seems to take forever. That's when I get the "torn" Quicktime logo. I'm going to try again and go watch a Laurel and Hardy movie and come back later to see if anything downloads.

I'm getting the same blank white screen when I try the Profile links, too.

It's a fairly large file (about 6+MB, I think), so that may be what's causing it. If so, E-mail me offline and we'll see what we can do.

Now, that may be something a little different. I happened to get that myself the other day. I'm open to suggestions on that issue.
