Dodger game mention

This afternoon I was listening to the Dodger game and Vin Scully mentioned "The Horn Blows at Midnight." He was talking about the home plate umpire having been an all-state trumpet player twice in high school. He said something to the effect of, "Many of you may remember the Jack Benny movie The Horn Blows at Midnight. If it blows at noon today, it may be the home plate umpire." It was funny to hear it brought up in a Dodger game. Of course Vin remembers the movie, he's in his 57th season this year. It's entirely possible he met Jack at some point in the old days.

I'd say it's even likely. Jack was a devoted Dodgers fan.
