Lookit wrote:I wouldn't mind seeing a film about the friendship between Jack and George Burns. The final emotional climax could be all the events surrounding Jack's death and George's replacing him in The Sunshine Boys. Gracie's death earlier could act as a foreshadowing plot point. Admittedly, this would make the film focus more on George, but there's a lot of good entertainment potential in the friendship of those two.

At this point , I have put the script on hiatus once again to write an entirly new one, but I want everyone on the board to suggest ways to present the life of Jack. I will most likely try to start writing the new script in the next year after writing some other projects and clearing my mind. Please suggest any plots possibilities. I like Lookits a lot

I've often imagined a film opening with a news report of Jack's death, describing all the celebrities who had been visiting Jack's home during his last illness... then going back in time to tell the story.

I also think the incident Jack describes in his book where he confronts the Southern soldier about segregation would dramatize nicely to show Jack's character on the question of racism.

I love your opening idea. Mine was Joan coming across the manuscript of Jacks autobiography while sorting through things

The confrontation with the southern dude was and still is a definite scene in the flick

I like to see a biographical movie that does not follow a formula in its pacing. A movie about a person's life does not necessarily have to include childhood and death, just an entertaining view of that person.

I have followed this thread long before I joined this message board, and to this day I have not been able to think of a part of Jack's life that was more exciting than another.

Are you sure you want to put a script out there for anyone to pick up off the Internet? I have worked in comics, and I have witnessed seeing writers and companies losing some of their concepts behind the scenes.
