George Washington Slept Here

I love digital recorders! TCM chose to show its lone two Jack Benny movies during their April Fools Month this morning when I was busy making a living, so I recorded it and watched it tonight. It must be at least 30 years since I've seen it!

I'd forgotten the one joke that was obviously not part of the original Kauffman-Hart play script and was written for Jack. When wife Ann Sheridan plays an 18th Century music box that is obviously not in the best playing condition, he quips, "It sounds like Phil Harris and His Orchestra."

I can't wait to replay The Horn Blows at Midnight later this week! I think I was in high school the last time I saw it.
