Well, how about that. Jack Benny is "broadcasting himself" (their slogan), internationally, on "YOUTUBE". Guess that also makes him TIME
magazine's 2006 person Of The Year. :?

Some more watching enjoyment...

Jack Benny is "broadcasting himself" on "YOUTUBE".
Some fun clips:

Nat King Cole-Day In Day Out
www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNZFu5TlVqg
(Brief appearance by Jack at the end)

Kings of Comedy??: Jack Benny and Walt Disney
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERtZGH8Gn54
(From the November 3 1965 "Jack Benny Hour",
his first "special" following the regular series.)

Re: Chernobyl-revisited 20 years since the disaster
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkrcPmZ87Mw
(Dennis Day sings "An Irishman Will Steal your Heart Away",
probably from the 1961 New Year Eve show? The unusual
title: somebody posted this in tribute to the Irish volunteers
working in Belarus.)

Vintage Smothers Brothers: Boil That Cabbage Down
www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgwH-XngXKo
(Jack is not seen in this clip, but he is there: The Smothers
Brothers perform on this final episode of the regular
Jack Benny Program, aired April 1965.)

From a TV Christmas epidose, including Jack, Rochester, Mel Blanc, Frank Nelson, Dennis Day, and Richard Deacon (Mel Cooley on The Dick Van Dyke Show and Fred Rutherford on Leave It to Beaver). Unfortunately, it doesn't have the whole episode, so we don't get to see Mel possibly kill himself!!!

And here is a Texaco commercial from 1968 with Jack and Dennis:

---------------------------------
Andy Devine: Fred Allen's voice gets on my nerves!
Jack Benny: I wouldn't say that if I were you.

Benny Broadcasts

Benny "Broadcasts Himself":

Jack Gives Johnny Carson Advice (1955)

(So, whatever became of this young Carson fellow?)

Dennis Day & Don Wilson as Laurel & Hardy w/ Jack Benny
www.youtube.com/watch?v=24wNgKf66AO
(Dennis Day and Don Wilson, "in character" as Dennis Day and Don Wilson, "impersonate" Laurel and Hardy. Confused? :) )

Jack Benny and Isaac Stern play Bach @ Carnegie Hall

Benny and the Beach Boys

Postby Jhammes » Thu Apr 05, 2007 10:35 am

Jack Benny, Sullivan style, presents the Beach Boys:

The Beach Boys-"California Girls"-TV Show 1965
www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI9XUeQoGcE

The Beach Boys-"Barbara Ann"-TV Show 1965
www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUnyRKYLyOM

(Those 1960's variety shows with screaming teenagers...
always cracks me up!)

This would be the Jack Benny Fan Club, Pasedena Chapter?
Also, is that Jayne Kennedy behind Dino?
(Ahh...what the Rat Pack could have been...)

The most surreal Jack Benny moment

Postby Jhammes » Tue Jul 10, 2007 6:41 am

Blues Magoos - Tobacco Road
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfmS1bCA5ZY

(Never thought such a surreal Benny moment would happen.
Notice at the end, the band actually enjoys being around Mr.
Benny.)

That's wild. Do you know which special that was from?

It's always funny to me to see Jack interacting with the rising youth culture of the late sixties and seventies. Sure he goes for the earplugs / "I don't understand this" schtick but he's clearly completely comfortable and in his element even with the Blue Magoos and psychedelia! Makes you wish Jack was granted another 20 years on TV...

That was fun: forgot that an up and coming Jack Benny "introduced" household names Laurel and Hardy. Guess it came around full circle, when an established Benny had Dennis Day and Don Wilson as L@H
on a 1963 program.
The "YOUTUBE" poster credits "The Kraft Music Hall" with the Blues
Magoos. Jack also hosted "The Hollywood Palace", another ecletic
late 1960's variety series. Both series featured the different generations,
so, maybe there will be more fun if bizzare Benny sightings.

Blowing In The Wind - Peter, Paul, And Mary
www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LoBwKVLVKU

(I always appreciate how Jack Benny was gracious and supportive
of his younger guest stars. Unlike so many of his contemporaries,
Jack would not smirk, or roll his eyes, at those "long hair crazy
kids".)

Darn it, sometimes I share the same technical "talents" of Jack Benny.
Let's try that post one more time?
