At nine PM tonight, Georgia Public Television (Atlanta's Channel will present Comedy in Bloom, a one-hour special about Jack's career. Just an alert for anyone who might be able to watch!

Good Lord! The program is on channel eight. Does the smiley show up with the numeral 8?

It looks like the system thinks a numeral 8 followed by a right parenthesis means the "cool" smiley with sunglasses was intended.

Wonderful. I am just far enough away from Georgia that I cannot pick up the public television broadcasts from your state.

Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is now running Jack Benny's early 1960's episodes... sunday nights at seven. No kidding...either a coincidence, or somebody did their homework.
Clean, clear film, original commercials are abruptly cut out, though.

Don't know how long this will run: the GPB website does have a "contact us" link, so maybe a cheerful thank you or word of encouragement may keep this on the air... and hopefully on to OTHER PBS affiliates.

Public Broadcasting has always been the network of cultural history, so this may be the best venue for the program.

WTTW, Channel 11, the Chicago PBS station, showed Comedy in Bloom last night followed by the HBO special on Groucho. Two excellent documentaries. Look for them on a PBS station near you. They are well worth it.
