I have approximately 1200 old time radio tapes I’d like to give away.

I have the following number of C-60 tapes with two shows per tape. Approximate number of shows in parenthesis.

Jack Benny 420 (840)
The Great Gildersleeve 270 (540)
Fibber McGee & Molly 120 (240)
Phil Harris & Alice Faye 63 (126)
The Life of Riley 53 (106)
Burns and Allen 37 (74)
Mel Blanc 20 (40)
Six Shooter 20 (40)
Our Miss Brooks 20 (40)
Duffy’s Tavern 18 (36)
Stan Freeberg 9 (18)
Red Skelton 8 (16)
Ozzie & Harriet 8 (16)
Have Gun, Will Travel 8 (16)
Dennis Day 8 (16)
Archie Andrews 6 (12)
Dragnet 5 (10)
Abbott & Costello 5 (10)
Roy Rogers 4 (8)
Superman 4 (8)
Philco Radio Time with Bing Crosby 4 (8)
Night Watch 3 (6)
Miscellaneous 52 (104)

All of the above tapes are stored in Case Logic style cases. There are 18 – 60 tape, 1 – 120 tape and 1 – 30 tape cases. I also have a 40 page Word document with all of the shows on each tape listed I can send anyone who is interested.

I am willing to mail them to anyone for the cost of packaging and shipping (Media Mail).

If I can’t find someone who wants these tapes, I will probably just throw them away… something I don’t want to do, but find it necessary due to space constraints.

I am giving these away on a first come basis.

Thanks,
Jeff Tanner

sigh ... hope you find a good home for these zap. I'm sympathetic!

I'm moving and just today took a couple of boxes with a lot of OTR cassettes to the Goodwill myself. Just not practical to keep 'em around in the age of mp3. But just maybe there will be some quirky thrift-store shoppin' kid who risks a quarter and becomes a new Jack Benny or Burns and Allen fan, or an old-timer who'll enjoy them for the nostalgia. So, at the very least, don't chuck them in the garbage!

I have stacks of cases filled with OTR cassettes. Some of them have better sound quality than some of the MP3's floating around.

Another thing about MP3's is that it seems not everything on cassette has made it to MP3 yet.

I don't have a cassette player any more so I junked all my OTR cassettes then realised about a week later I tossed out an interview with Frank Nelson someone had sent me. :(

I'd love to have an mp3 of that but have never seen it anywhere. You don't know how annoyed I am.

I would love the Jack Benny tapes, so I could get higher quality encodes available to folks.
