I put this down here since it's not technically about Jack. Yesterday I celebrated my 39th birthday. I've now caught up with Jack. In actuality I didn't celebrate since I'm sick unfortunately. Anyway, did any of y'all do anything special when (if) you got to that magical age?

There was quite a big to-do on the day I turned 39... but I think most of the people were celebrating because Dewey had just taken Manila!

Actually, the big to-do was when I was supposed to turn 40, which was a few months ago. I decided a few days before the big day that ol' Jack had the right idea.

Thus, I'm gonna hold steady at 39 for as long as I can, at least in my mind.

I feel younger already.

Don't worry about not celebrating your 39th birthday because you were sick. If you want to be like Mr. Benny, you will have more opportunities to celebrate it again. I've been 39 for quite a number of years now. It's getting harder to do now that my daughter is 38!

I hear you. I celebrated my twenty-first thirty-ninth birthday in March. This means my son was born when I was nine, and each year I keep getting younger when that happened.

Yes, this is like when Jack said, 'I had a younger sister named Florence; now I have an older sister named Florence'.

I think Dewey may have said, "I have not yet begun to defeat Truman!"

Over on that other thread, "Life with the Lyons," Bebe Daniels stopped at age 32 (there are quite a few references to it in the episodes I have.)

And here's a birthday joke from that series--
Bebe: "Aggie, did you remember this is Robin's birthday?"
Aggie "Aye! And I'm goin' to bake him a cake with ten candles!"
Bebe: "Oh no... wouldn't the oven be faster?"

I'm on my 7th 39th birthday! I've had big theme parties for every one! I tell everyone I meet that I don't want anyone feeling left out so eventually everyone will attend one of my 39th birthday parties!
