The kind of idiotic "what if" stuff that the History Channel shows on 2012 spew is one reason I seldom watch the history channel anymore. I yearn for the days when it was the WWII channel because it is now all about guys who drive trucks on ice in Canada, Nostradamus, and the Apocalypse.
Those who fear 2012 are probably the same ones who feared Y2K, and we all remember how everything went to hell on January 1, 2000...oh, wait...
I remember a Nova show on PBS a couple of decades ago that debunked the Bermuda Triangle garbage. A library researcher, whose name I forget gave the perfect metaphor for the writers who put this kind of stuff out: "It's like going to the fountain of knowledge and gargling."
