Just noticed that on Netflix Ellery Queen: the Complete Series is now available. I thought this '70s series starring Jim Hutton was great fun; and since it was set in 1947, lots of Benny-era guest stars cropped up: George Burns, Arthur Godfrey, Betty White, Vincent Price, Ed McMahon, Roddy McDowall, Cesar Romero, Eva Gabor and many others pop up in supporting roles (sometimes victim, sometimes the murderer).

I saw those shows in a movie catalog just last night. I remember liking them a lot in my teen years and thought about buying the set.

While some of the acting was "wooden", the stories were fun and I loved the 1940s atmosphere (or was it the '30s?). I first saw them on TV when I was a kid. Then my brother got hold of a set on DVD. It was nice to re-watch them all. Remember the dancing cigarette packs? Simon Brimmer and his failed radio broadcasts, trying to solve a murder live and having Ellery ruin it?
