I thought I recognized the set! Through my daughter, who has worked with puppetry troupes in Orlando and now in Atlanta, I've met three of Jim Henson's children, all of them really nice people. For my daughter's birthday in Orlando, my wife and I once gave her a "life-sized" posable Kermit, made to the same specs as the Kermit Henson approved for still photos; Heather Henson was a guest at the party and went absolutely nuts over the Kermit--she knew one was coming out but had never seen it--and I think she actually borrowed it from our daughter to show around. Right now it's home with us, waiting for my daughter to find the proper display case.

Sigh....Jack and the Muppets....what a great show that would have been!

By the way, I should have said in my earlier post that the bread should be toasted.

I know there was some place in Waukegan selling them, as well as probably any number of those "Delis of the Stars" places. I forget which was the "original" one.

Got it in one, shimp! The Jack Benny was a deli sandwich sold, iirc, at Lindy's Deli in Times Square, and supposedly was actually one that Jack liked to order. Last I heard, there is a sandwich place in Waukegan that still serves a version (using Thousand Island dressing; the original was supposed to be made with Russian dressing).
