Just to confirm, that was indeed Frank Fontaine (John L.C. Silvoney).

So, is this the answer?

I think we need to start a Jack Benny Rebus thread!

Just FYI, anyone getting the same image bugs, that can be from "hotlinking" ... Check the directions on the third page of this thread, it's important the photos are saved somewhere like a photo hosting service or your personal site where image linking is OK. Imageshack is generally pretty good, although it appears a few of the photos from a few years ago in this thread are now dead.

You know it is the fiesty NY orchestra leader. The clue with the "lime man" was too easy, but I'm new at this!

The "lime man" was what I had trouble figuring out!

OK, where's Jack, who's he with? You know the drill ...

Yes, the October 18, 1959 show where Jack visits the Truman Library.

The Truman part was easy (looks just like him!) but I totally guessed on the library part. I haven't seen very many TV episodes.

Now I would think it is an interesting little bit of history - and Jack was clearly honored, humbled, and went to great lengths to have Truman on his show. However, when I first saw this episode in reruns when I was maybe 10 or 12, I HATED it! I was expecting a fun Benny show and stayed up late to get this creaky stodgy history lesson that, as I recall, plays like a 1950s educational film. There are lots of pictures of the filming at the Truman library site though. http://www.trumanlibrary.org

OK, here's Jack in a skit with someone fairly early in her career. Any guesses?

8) Absolutely! That's a pre-Catwoman and "Barnaby Jones" Lee Meriwether. She clocked two early appearances on Jack's TV show, this one being the larger role.

Well done Jhammes - I was about to make a wrong guess (Suzanne Pleshette) but you saved me that indignity...oops.

I don't know, Steve, but is that a '48 Chev in the background?
