LOOKING FOR BOOKS ON BENNY!

I work at a Barnes and Noble bookstore and have recently discovered that ALL of the Benny books mentioned on this website are not only out of print, but there is NO RECORD of them in the B+N book search engine.

It was suggested that E bay might have them: nothing.
I have checked used/rare bookstores: nothing.

Does anyone have any idea where I can locate ANY of the books?
(Especially the Milt Josefsberg book).

I am glad to see that there are other people as interested in the show as I am.

"amazon" .com claims to have 13 "new and used" available. Sometimes the same place has multiple listings however, and no guarentee they are still in stock. This link might work for the Milt Josefsberg ..

if it doesn't, just go to amazon.com, search for Milt Josefsberg, and then on any item you're interested in click on new and used. Searches for Jack Benny turn up interesting things at times.

"Sunday Nights At Seven" starting at $0.39 on the Amazon marketplace...can't beat that.

Not everyone likes this book (written by Jack's daughter with sections coming from Jack's unpublished memoirs) but I liked it.

Really, you would think there would be more on Jack but there's really not that much, at least recently.

My 2¢ on this: "Sunday Nights at Seven" is worth it for the sections written by Jack Benny, though you may find you want to skim or hop over Joan Benny's memoires, which make up more than half the book. If you are interested in Benny's work more than his personal life, the book to get--far and away the best I've seen--is the Museum of Television and Radio catalog about Jack Benny. Great photos, actual scripts, and summaries of many of his programs throughout his career. Well worth seeing out.

I know some folks here have expressed differing opinions, but I think that Irving Fein's book is the best one on Jack's career. No other book covers the items like Amusement Enterprises and J&M Productions as well as his does. Makes plenty of sense, since Irving was the business manager and that sort of thing was his focus.

And I have to highly recommend the Milt Josefsberg biography. I've said it before, but the love just blooms off the page. (Pun intended, but the sentiment is still sincere.)

i've got the book Irving Fein wrote; plus i've got the one Joan wrote and i got that "Radio and Television" history of Jack from the Museum of Television and Radio. all of these books came from eBay since they're all out of print and aren't carried in bookstores. George Burns wrote the introduction of the book by Fein. i don't have Josephsberg's book about Jack.

I love this book! I really felt like Jack was talking to me! The sections by Jack are in BOLD type and the sections by Joan are not. THis makes it easy to just read what Jack wrote if you want. I think the parts Joan wrote are interestring as well. Pick up a copy of this book and spend a few more hours with Jack.

At the risk of being too obvious, let me also suggest your local library.

I am currently halfway through "Sunday nights at seven" from my Library's (auto)biography section.....i am enjoying (and gaining some very interesting insights) both from the JB written sections and those by his daughter Joan.
