This might best go in a message board titled "Jack Benny's Associates Today." In this case it is a broadcast this Saturday of the music of the big band that was fronted by Bob Crosby.
For those of you who are more into OTR than big bands, the Crosby band (actually a co-operative unit that Crosby only fronted) was one of the best in the business. It will give you a chance to hear Bob in a setting other than the Benny shows of a decade or more later. The broadcasts are from 1935-42, the year Crosby went into the service (Navy, iirc).
These broadcasts can be heard on Chuck Schaden's "Those Were the Days" radio program. The broadcast is Saturday from 1:00-5:00 p.m. CDT on WDCB-FM (90.9) in the Chicago area. Those of you outside of Chicago can listen to a live stream at www.wdcb.org. Beginning the following Tuesday (May 31), you can replay the broadcast at Schaden's "Nostalgia Digest" web site, www.nostalgiadigest.com.
