SHOWER OF STARS

Does anyone know how many episodes of CBS' "Shower Of Stars" were hosted by Jack Benny?

"Shower Of Stars" was a live 1950's hour-long variety hour from Television City in Hollywood, and it was telecast once a month, pre-empting the dramatic anthology "Climax!". (Both series were sponsored by Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth).

Not all of the "Shower Of Stars" specials were hosted by Jack (some of them had specialized themes, like "A Salute To Broadway"), but many of them were Benny-hosted.

Jack's "Shower Of Stars" shows were basically hour-long versions of his own half-hour shows....He would deliver a monologue, introduce and perform with guest stars and there would usually be a closing sketch featuring Jack and the various guests.

Since the show was telecast live, the surviving "Shower Of Stars" programs are from network kinescopes. These kinescopes are in Black & White, which is a shame, because the show was originally telecast in color (one of the first regular color shows that CBS had). It would be great to see a 1950's Jack in color!

Does anyone here have the number of "Shower Of Stars" episodes that Jack hosted....even a ROUGH idea?

According to imdb.com, Benny appeared in eleven episodes of "Shower of Stars." He is listed as a host separately (along with William Lundigan who was also host of Climax. It is not clear from this whether Benny hosted all eleven episodes in which he appeared.
