Could JB make it in today's world?

Ok, I may be a bit out of my depth with all the experts on here.. but compelled to write a quick note.

I've recently been introduced to Jack through doing a spot of research on Orson Welles and stumbling onto the Hunchback radio episode in which Orson featured.

Just for context - I'm from the UK and knew absoltely zilch about JB. But having listened to the episode countless times - at first in a professional capacity, but increasingly for my own enjoyment - I think Jack would indeed have every opportunity for sucess even in todays climate.

I've got to say that Jack's personality shines through the recordings I've heard - the warmth and generosity of his humour is remarkably fresh and contemporary. I think that's because genuine talent simply doesn't date badly (hence my research on Welles).

It's just damn funny.

I feel really lucky to have found him - but unlucky to have no easy access to much of his other output.

Best from the UK

Jello again,

You might not know, but there was about a month in which Orson Welles took over for Jack when Jack took ill. Here are a couple of links to MP3's of those episodes. If you wnt me to post more links just say so.

Laura, if you ever do decide to put on a followup to "39 Forever" (I know, I know, it's incredibly difficult), I'll just bet you COULD get Maurice LaMarche to do Orson Welles!

Laura, not to beat a daed horse but you've got me curious--did the Kelsey Grammer blow-off come from him personally or via some assistant? If the latter, it's possible that the request never made it to him. I don't know the guy, but it is hard to imagine he couldn't manage a polite word or two about Jack...

Wow, thanks so much Jack - really appreciate the links.

If there are any other Orson episodes you may have I'd love to listen to them if you can find the time to post.

All the best
