Certainly the mp3 explosion has made a big difference, but i believe that (to some extent at least) that Marshall McLuhan (sp?) was right: "The medium IS the message"
....my perception is that the large-vast majority of people (esp among post-otr generations) do not particularly care for spoken word comedy/drama.
How many "new" JB "fans" are there?...a few thousand??
The IJBFC may be barometer(?), but my (admittedly limited) perception leads me to believe that any large scale resurgence in JB is not at all possible via his radio shows (and just to be clear; i am a JB radio fanatic).
I'm guessing(hoping!) that a "significant" DVD release of JB TV eps will have just as much influence, and probably much more, in ramping up JB's popularity...
How much influence have the inexpensive "public domain" eps currently in circulation had? I know i have seen sets in at least 2 people's homes....but they are kinda regarded as inexpensive secondary "old" stuff to watch....and havn't made anyone into a JB "fan."....
I hate to use the word, but hopefully there will be some "synergy" (my apologies...i promise not to use "Solutions"...d'oh!)between mp3's, a quality/promoted DVD package(s!)and this forum.
