New "I love Jack Benny because" contest

I always thought it might be fun for us to list the reasons and ways we love Jack Benny. The prize will be a copy of my copy of a picture signed by Jack Benny, unless Laura won't let me. I'll try and also throw in the first copy of the "Songs of the Jack Benny Show Album," that I have been working on for the last couple of years. Don't worry I'm giving one to Laura to make available to club members.

Wow! I thought I might get a few responses, but the way this idea is being embraced by the Jack Benny community here would have Jack laughing and pounding the floor. I can almost hear him, " Ya see, Ya see, they don't want to write why they love me! Thats why we called it the" "Why I Hate Jack Benny Contest," on my show in the first place! If I told you once, I told you five times! A contest has to have a twist, but do you listen to me. Well..."

I love Jack Benny because this world moves too fast, time alters everything too much, and we lose too many things over the years. Jack is always 39, always stingy, and always funny. As Holmes said of Watson, Jack is the one fixed point in a changing world!

You know, this would have made a hilarious follow-up to the "Why I can't stand Jack Benny" contest run on the JB show --- Jack gets miffed, starts a "why I love Jack Benny contest" and doesn't get any replies! Every day Jack waits for the postman and all that comes is Stronghearts Dog Food or laundry or something...

As for me, if we're sticking to the fifty words or less bit...there's no way I could summarize.
