A "Best Of" collection of 24 HERE'S LUCY episodes will be released on August 17. A follow-up press release with an episode listing is still pending, but confirmed by one of the set's producers is...

The first season '68 episode "Lucy Visits Jack Benny," which includes a cameo by Jackie Gleason as Ralph Kramden.

Also, a nice set of extras includes a skit from one of Jack's TV specials, featuring Jack and Lucy. Not sure which of Jack's specials this is from, but the description indicates Johnny Carson in the credit as well.

Oooh...that may be Jack Benny's First Farewell Special. But I don't know for certain.

The distributor is still being secretive with the episode contents, but one of the set's co-producers reports...

"Lucy and Jack Benny's Biography" from HL's third season will be included too. George Burns cameos in that ep.

- Lucy Visits Jack Benny
- Lucy and Jack Benny's Biography
- Lucy and Carol Burnett (cameo gag appearance)

Plus, the aforementioned skit with Lucy, Johnny Carson and Jack from one of Jack's FAREWELL specials.

I assume these will be clips from the episodes and not the entire episodes, but I would love it if the entire episodes were included! After all, it was some of my best work!

You assume incorrectly. Three complete, uncut, restored episodes.

Score Baby! Three complete episodes featuring Jack, awesome! The truly amazing thing is that Amazon has this set going for $24.99. I'd pay that just for the three shows featuring Benny. It has commentary by Carol Burnette, I don't even think she did commentaries on her own shows for Columbia House DVDs.

I spoke with someone who knows Paul Brownstein, the producer of the HERE'S LUCY DVD set. An official promotional announcement is pending, but it looks like the set will be delayed by a couple months.

Simply, Production and Marketing weren't on the same page, and 8/17 is unlikely pending a miracle. Reportedly, an upcoming announcement will push it back to "year-end."
