I believe it was in the new issue of the JBT that we learned that Mary was actually born in Seattle, but raised in Vancouver.
I also seem to recall that Mary eventually took out US Citizenship papers to become naturalized. (Wasn't this a possible clue as to resolving the Livingston/Livingstone spelling, but ended up not being so as she was "Mary Benny" on those?)
So if Mary was born in Seattle, wouldn't she already have US citizenship or at least dual citizenship?

Dual citizenship goes to people born in the USA or its territories whose parents are citizens of another country.
My mother was French, but I was born in the USA. I have dual citizenship. I consider myself absolutely American!
