I remember reading about a Jack Benny radio program where Jack wasn't heard at all until the very end. The show took place on a tour bus, and the payoff was Jack used the bus to get to his house.

Does anybody know the date of this episode? I'd love to hear it.

It's a great episode, but you've got the plot backwards. Jack uses the bus to get from his house to the studio, and then he gets into a fight with the bus driver.

The radio writer for one of the local papers reviewed that show after it aired and panned it! He didn't like all the applause the characters received on entry (like Happy Days much later).

You guys are talking about two different episodes. There is one episode where Jack rides the bus to the studio. Then the other one is where Jack introduces the cast via the tour bus but doesn't show up until the last four minutes of the shwo.
