Turner Classic Movies' Cartoon Alley

Hi all!

I just recorded Turner Classic Movie's "TCM Cartoon Alley #1," which featured three Clark Gable caricatures (he is their star of the month). Anyway, of the three cartoons, which are loads of fun to watch anyway, there is one called "Malibu Beach Party" (1940). Tons of movie stars are invited to "Jack Bunny's" house for a big party! It is quite a funny cartoon, with the Jack regulars, "Ms. Livingston, I presume," "Pill Harris and his orchestra," and, of course, "Winchester." Jack even plays his violin! The man doing his voice sounds like the sme man who has done Jack's voice on other radio programs (I cannot think specifically which ones, but I think we have heard this man before).

Anyway, I enjoyed it, and I thought I would share the info with you. The program airs two more times:

Sunday, Nov. 14 - 5:00am (Central) (1/2 hour)
Tuesday, Nov. 23 - 6:30am (Central) (1/2 HOUR)

You can always check turnerclassicmovies.com for the correct time in your area. It sounds like TCM plans on making more of these programs in the future, so who knows if Jack may show up again! Even if he doesn't, the other two cartoons ("Coo Coo Nut Grove" (1936) and "Hollywood Steps Out" (1941)) show how funny seeing Hollywood actors in cartoons can be.

Enjoy!

Now that I've got this in the video library (thank you, Brad!), I think that the voice of Jack is done by Jack Lescoulie. He did the voice in "Daffy Duck and the Dinosaur", and possibly others. Lescoulie even portrayed Jack briefly on Jack's own show during the 10th anniversary musical tribute. I think his Benny imitation is pretty weak, but apparently Warner Brothers thought he was good enough to use him more than once.
