According to my local TV listings, on Wednesday July 9th during prime time, PBS will air a show about Jack Benny. The listing says "classic clips of the comic in action." I don't know any more about it than that, but I hope it's on nationally!

It's probably a rebroadcast of "Comedy in Bloom" that has been recirculating on PBS. However, I'm happy to report that WNET is working on a more general comedy show, and has gotten my help on a number of Benny-related items...so I'm hopeful he'll get some airtime.

Any show about comedy (unless it's strictly about comedians after 1975) that wouldn't give Jack airtime isn't worth watching. It would be like doing a show about jazz without mentioning Louis Armstrong.

Yup, it's Comedy in Bloom. I'm a little late to the Benny party so I'm looking forward to seeing it

They played that in Chicago a couple of months ago. I think you'll enjoy it.

I watched a few minutes today before work. Fascinating! I haven't seen many of Jack Benny's TV appearances. I absolutely love the radio show :lol:

Which is ironic, because my first exposure to Jack was on TV! I saw him on Here's Lucy
