Speaking of news figures joy riding in entertainment vehicles- How about Mike Wallace playing straight man for Victor Borge in the Franz Liszt Time Window skit? Of course, Mr. Wallace might not have been supersized to "newsman" yet when he played straight man to the Great Dane.
I'd bet Borge fractured Jack. Anybody know if the two appeared together?

The 10/16/60 Jack Benny Program found Mike Wallace playing straight man for Jack, in the "Nightbeat" skit.
Guess news figures "joy riding in entertainment vehicles" (great expression!) is not so new after all...it just seems that way?
