Yes! Jack has invaded that perpetual fortress of square, The Lawrence Welk Show. It's amazing how identifiable that set is!

Well, Jack was returning the favor after Welk & Co. appeared on Jack's show, and he made them play a champagne arrangement of "When You Say I Beg Your Pardon, Then I'll Come Back to You"! Funny stuff.

OK, from the utterly random things to Google files. Where's this?:

Do-Wah-Ditty is in Ohio near Akron? I never knew! That's what I like about the South. It's in the North.

Yep, such is the beauty of the internets! Go to maps.google.com, type in "Doo Wah Ditty" and it miraculously finds it, as an unverified location near an abandoned shopping center southwest of Akron! Sounds apropos to me, I guess boxback coats and button shoes aren't big sellers these days :)

I was completely thrown by this one. All I could think of was that Akron was the original home of General Tire & Rubber Co., but I didn't think it would be there. Turns out I was right. Unless Doo-Wah-Ditty is code for Akron.

Wow Max, good trivia snooping! I was totally unaware of that connection. I wonder if Jack was ever called on the carpet to the bosses in Akron.

I admit this one was kind of a cheat, you could probably be standing right on that corner and not know you were in Doo Wah Ditty. The only way to really solve it would be to Google random Benny-related places.

I'm (clearly) running out of fresh mystery images, so anyone else, really, feel free to take up the quizmaster reins. And, FYI, There are instructions as to how to post images a few pages back in this same thread. If not, I'll see what I can scrounge in the next few days.

Um, my impression from the Google Maps page was that it's not really a "place", but rather some kind of business establishment by the name of Doo Wah Ditty. Like, maybe a themed restaurant or car wash or something. So, there's probably not much of a "connection..."

Sheesh, I admitted it was a cheap one :)

The "connection" I meant was that there actually is any kind of Jack Benny connection to the city of Akron at all (i.e., the place where General Tire, one of Jack's early sponsors originated, as Maxwell pointed out). "Doo Wah Ditty" probably is some kind of probably defunct novelty car wash (or worse!), but it's the only place in the world covered by Google Maps that pops up with that name ...

I would guess "The Tonight Show." Even if I'm wrong, I'll say that one of Jim Henson's daughters (whom my daughter knows well because they are both in the puppeteering racket) told me that her father always wanted to costar Jack in a Muppet production, but it never worked out.

Here's another "where's Jack?" of a sort:

Turkey pastrami and Swiss cheese triple-decker on white, with Russian dressing.
