Gee...sure does sound like them. But the other voices don't. I think it would have been too challenging to "sample" just the HMMM from the Sportsmen and overlay it into the music. Today it would take just a few clicks.

I'll be curious to see what "Sportsmen Quartet" thinks about this, since he's the resident expert on them.

That's an odd one, since "If You're Ever Down in Texas Look Me Up" was certainly recorded by Phil Harris on RCA Victor, and the Sportsmen were on a lot of those recordings -- but this one doesn't quite sound like Phil though it's obviously meant to. Maybe it's just off-speed, and it is Phil (and then probably the Sportsmen too)? There are other weird things in that video clip, notice all the visual information is a flipped mirror image, so maybe the sound is a little off too.

I own the Tom and Jerry dvd that's on and was watching the episode with my kid and that just caught me funny. The sound on the youtube clip is right, the image is flipped but that doesn't matter. Even four cows giving the hmmmmmm. Just throwing it out there.

Both songs are sung by The King's Men from "Fibber McGee and Molly" (and I am 100% sure of it). I believe that the solo singing is Ken Darby. I'm going with that they didn't bring The Sportsmen in to hum.
